President Buhari today said the success recorded by the military against the Boko Haram sect in recent times can be traced to the fight against corruption in the military. According to him, corruption was largely responsible for the inability of the Nigerian military to quickly defeat Boko Haram.

Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi has revealed that he's an Arsenal fan in and out and that the moment he signed for Arsenal as a child was a 'crazy' one as his parents were so proud of him. Iwobi joined Arsenal as a schoolboy before progressing through the academy and made his debut against Sheffield in October. He has scored 2 goals in 20 appearances for the club this season.

The goalkeeper of Giwa FC Timothy Chichi  Okere has died after a prolonged battle with a spinal cord injury. He died yesterday May 4th in Jos, and it's sad times for the football club and the League Management company as Timothy has been an important member of the squad and played a major role towards helping the team to gain promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League three years ago before losing his spot to Flying Eagles goaltender Ojo Olorunleke at the commencement of the team’ s season in the NPFL.

The Real Madrid coach suffered sartorial mishaps in his last two Champions League games prior to last night so he took precautions to forestall making it a hat trick. He was asked if he'll change his tailor to avoid a repeat and here's what he said: "No I cannot change (my tailor). What I can do is wear a bigger size. And that is what I have done." Smart move!
