Football: Rumors Of Guardiola To Manchester City Deepens

Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola has cancelled his prematch news conference ahead of the game against Hertha Berlin amid reports linking him with Manchester City and even Real Madrid, bitter rivals of his former club Barcelona.
Spanish paper Cadena COPE reported that Guardiola had agreed to leave Bayern in the summer and make the move to City.

Earlier this week, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told reporters that “no one is irreplaceable.”
Guardiola is under contract at Bayern until the summer of 2016, and the runaway Bundesliga leaders have said a decision on his future will be taken during the winter break.
His news conference prior to the Hertha game was cancelled “for private reasons” according to an ARA report, which also said he had not been present for the final prematch training session.
The report also said that, despite claims in the Spanish press, Guardiola had not put pen to paper on any pre-contract agreement amid interest from Premier League clubs and Real.
“According to sources in the coach’s camp, Real Madrid have made an approach to those close to Guardiola to see if there was any chance of making it happen that he’d sit on the bench at the Santiago Bernabeu,” the report added. It said the approach had been rejected by the Guardiola camp.
German tabloid Bild, meanwhile, said Bayern could well end up keeping their coach.
It said: “Why should Pep leave? To start building a team from scratch? To live in Manchester? To be second-class internationally?”
Rummenigge said talks with Guardiola were scheduled to take place after the final match of 2015 at Hanover on Dec. 19.
“It is not planned to push back that date,” he said.
“We have always said there will be a decision in 2015. I know that it’s late, just days before Christmas. But the talks will be held after the Hannover match and we’ll then announce a decision.
“There is no person in this world who can’t be replaced at some point. That’s the state of things. Players come, players go, and the same applies to coaches. They come and they go at some point.”
Bayern are on course to win a record fourth consecutive championship, and have also impressed in Europe despite the ongoing uncertainty about Guardiola’s future.
