Mail restart the Fabregas Chelsea rat story as Cesc takes legal action v Pat Nevin, DM ignore crucial facts

The Daily Mail have cooked up a storm in a teacup today by restarting the whole Cesc Fabregas is the ‘Chelsea rat’ story.
From the outset, let’s be clear: Cesc is not the Chelsea rat.
The term stems from a disclosure on BBC radio earlier in the season, in which it was reported that one senior Blues player had admitted they’d rather lose than win for Jose Mourinho.

The Secret Footballer later fingered Fabregas as the rogue rat, however the Secret Footballer has since posted an apology admitting he got his accusation completely wrong.
And yet the story continues to run and run. We wonder why?
In the latest twist, Chelsea TV pundit Pat Nevin is being accused of restarting the rumour that Cesc is a rotten egg at Cobham.
It’s being claimed that Nevin allegedly said that Fabregas would “rather lose than win” for Jose Mourinho. Moreover, the Daily Mail has reported:
Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas is taking legal action against pundit Pat Nevin for alleging he was the player who said he would ‘rather lose than win’ for Jose Mourinho.
Fabregas has authorised lawyers to send legal letters alleging defamation to former Chelsea player Nevin, who made his claim on BBC Radio Four’s flagship Today programme last week.
Richardson brought up the ‘rather lose than win’ comment with Nevin, who said: ‘Yeah, that was Cesc Fabregas, wasn’t it?’
Amazingly, the Daily Mail has refused to report on Nevin’s heartfelt tweets which he’s posted this week denouncing claims he’s singled out Cesc once more.
Nevin has categorically denied calling out Cesc, however those tweets failed to make their way into the Mail’s story.
Was it an oversight by the Mail? That seems unlikely.
Obviously those tweets upset the angle of their story wholeheartedly.

Cesc Fabregas the ‘Rat’ who turned against Mourinho? Nothing could be further from the truth [Telegraph]

Jose Mourinho’s sacking at Chelsea has led to all sort of plot twists and intrigue. Far from a routine results-oriented sacking, there was a lot more to Mourinho’s sacking than meets the eye, the conspiracy theorists insist. A narrative of a dressing room mutiny has persisted throughout the season, and ultimately proved to be Mourinho’s downfall – again if you believe in the smoke and mirrors stuff.
